Over 85,000 students introduced to the magic of live symphonic music.
For the past 25 years, South Coast Symphony’s Koncerts for Kids has performed for over 85,000 students and their teachers from cities and communities throughout South Orange County. These live symphonic concerts are held annually in November during the school day. Students and teachers are bused to and from their schools to the concerts completely free of charge.
Koncerts for Kids is a specifically designed multimedia program, professionally narrated, for fourth-grade students. They experience music performed by a large symphony orchestra from a variety of genres including classical, jazz, opera, and Hollywood film scores.
Featured segments include George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue paired with live painting/art performance, and multimedia presentations featuring the legendary film scores of composer John Williams.

Students also have the unique opportunity to hear live performances from two exceptionally talented young performers, chosen as award winners from the Symphony’s annual Young STARS of the Future competition.
Attending schools come from the Tustin Unified, Capistrano Unified, and Saddleback Unified school districts, as well as various private schools across South County. This program succeeds through the dedicated support of the Symphony Alliance, the Tustin Area Council for Fine Arts, and our school district partners.
